Hi,

During the last couple of years I have built a full-fledged single seater fixed-base flight simulator. It uses MS Flight Simulator 9. The outside views are displayed via projectors on three screens with a 11 x 3 feet display area.
The simulator replicates to a high degree of fidelity the avionics and flight management systems of the Boeing 737-NG. This is done with additional software that runs on a network of 7 PCs.
As I/O interfaces I used the EPIC card by R&R Electronics, plus Phidgets and Hagstroem cards. For the EPIC, I wrote more than 4000 lines of C++ like code to bring all switches, displays, lamps and LEDs in the cockpit to life.

Some technical highlights:
- motorized throttle lever for Auto-Throttle operation
- motorized spoiler lever (employs spoilers automatically at touchdown)
- Solenoid held Engine start switches
- working NAV and COM radios

Lots of details abaut this project are on my website: www.hanskrohn.com (http://www.hanskrohn.com)

A movie about the simulator in action is on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7TlGSW7aeQ

Last but not least I attach some pictures of the cockpit (many more are on my webiste).

Regards,
Hans
