View Full Version : Speecys SPC-101C Programming

09-19-2007, 01:27 AM
I'll have to cut some videos this weekend for everyone. Tonight I developed a C# application running on my Vista laptop to control the SPC-101C. Speecys provides the MIRAI-VCE demonstration application which is a VB application. It didn't take long digging through the code to be able to create my own application after reviewing the socket code. Anyway I'm going to setup my application so you can control the SPC-101C via Joystick connected to your desktop/laptop. Anyway more to do, I'll be updating this post on the app dev.

We wait anxiously!

Well here it is my first video with the SPC-101C I am controlling the SPC-101C via WiFi from my laptop using a C# application I developed running on Windows Vista - messing with Joystick routines now. I also am going to try to create a Java application to do the same for controlling the SPC-101C on my MacBook Pro.

More videos and information updates to come

This is ground breaking stuff, see my blog happy rant (http://blog.trossenrobotics.com/index.php/2007/09/21/speecys-spc-101c-first-english-app-written/) about it here. :robotveryhappy:

Well some updated news I have some Java application code - so I will do a video showing off the SPC-101C being controlled from my MacBook Pro. Anyway keep on the look-out, I'll start a new thread for the next big update.

Wait I didn't develop the Java application that was some code I got from Koji Tokura, I just tweaked it to get it running on the Mac. Anyway what I am working on is english tweaking the Motion Editor and also getting it running on Vista with the current version of DirectX 9.

Check out these shot - now I made my first motion file and was successful at getting the motion data loaded into the SPC-101C, I like how alot of these things are working - I'll give more details as I continue to work with Speecys and confirm I am doing the right things at least coding is typically english - but the comments are not (thankfully their constants, variable and such are which makes it much easier).

I'm very close to having Motion Editor working once I figured out changes Microsoft made to DirectX, at least in Java you get a depreciation warning, MS they just flat out change it or drop it all together, one method SetTime was removed, now it's AdvanceTime and some other calls the parameters are different. Anyway below are the images.

Currently I am working with this to create my motion files but after working on motion editor code, I know what most things are - most of the japanese characters do not show up correctly on some of the buttons and font selection.

Now for the work in progress English Version

I unfortunately have a ton of work to do over the next week, so I don't know how much time I can spend on this, I've already spent too much time but I am dying to have this running on my Vista Laptop with full english buttons, dialogs, etc

What sort of DirectX changes are you looking for? Also, what versions are you trying to compare? I did a little DirectX 8.0 and 9.0 work a while back, so I might be able to help a bit. DX10 I have no experience with though:(

Believe me, I understand about spending a lot of time on a particular project. Just ask Matt, haha!

Chuck! I have been trying to reach you. I am trying to acquire a Speecys 101-C. Need help on knowing WHERE,HOW, what is the best way of getting it.

All of this worked out fine for you being able to receive it through Fed-X. What did it cost? and how much was the shipping. I live in TN,usa. I'll bet shipping has
doubled but the unit price must have gone down. I heard the price was from $200 all the way to $3800. and if I wanted the big brother 102 or 103, $26k.
