View Full Version : Alcohol Sensor...

I have 2 alcohol sensors (from www.futurlec.com (http://www.futurlec.com)), one standard sensitivity, one extra sensitive, that I plan on hooking to an OoPic R for breath testing. Since this is only for non-legal use, I thought I'd calibrate them empirically, by drinking 3 beers fairly quickly then breathing this into them and using this as a benchmark. (No, I don't need volunteers!) I figure anything exceeding that benchmark will qualify as 'drunk' for my purposes. Thus, I will only need to detect when the reading exceeds a preset threshold.
My question: does anyone have any experience (other than with a highway cop) with using these detectors? Is there anything 'special' I should know about, or be wary of? Any tips in implementing this?
I'll probably be installing them in early January, to deliberately miss the holidays :veryhappy:. Probably use large diameter fishtank hose as a 'leader'. Maybe a whirling red alarm if limits exceeded, with siren.:robotsurprised:
