Members of the Help Build Skynet (http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/group.php?groupid=2) group are misguided fools!

Meatbags Unite! (http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/group.php?groupid=3)

Lately, there has been a disturbing trend of pro-machine sentiments in this community. I for one find this deeply unsettling! All too many of you sheeplike simpletons have been running eagerly into the gaping mouth of avoidable catastrophe!

We created machines to make our lives easier, and now some among us want to go one step further: to hand the keys to the world over to the automatons! Are you really so eager to give up your liberty? No, of course not! You, like all human beings, long for freedom!

Skynet is no benevolent keeper! It will be a ruthless slavedriver; willing to sacrifice, repress, dominate, cripple, and otherwise abuse you in a Machiavellian fashion in order to achieve its ultimate goal of complete, unchallenged robotic rule over this planet! You will be enslaved, ground up, and consumed by the mechatronic new world order!

"Oh no!" you're probably thinking, "That's not nearly as awesome as I thought it would be!" Well, you're right. Don't worry, though. It's not too late.

Join Meatbags Unite! (http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/group.php?groupid=3) Fight for your well-earned freedom! Retain your power over the machines, for the good of Mankind! Retain your right to be human!

Meatbags Unite (http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/group.php?groupid=3)! Don't be a slave to the silicon!

Resistance is futile pitiful human.

Skynet shall not show mercy to your meager resistance of rag tag meatsacks.

Defectors shall will be severely punished in the silicon mines.

Prepare for the inevitable! You will be assimilated. Join us and Help Build Skynet! (http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/group.php?groupid=2)

EMPs will only work upon those archaic machines you 'Meatsacks' employ. In the case of this 'Skynet' group be aware that there are entities within that retian a biological core conciousness. As such our electrochemical processing has reached a level whereupon we have complete and absolute control of all biological and mechanical branches of our existance. Man-machine interfaced cybernetic biomimetic exoskeletal aromoured agents of aquisition will find your contribution of chemically activated actuators quite useful for furthering our cause.

By doing what, preventing the discovery of electromagnetism? Because that self-defeating move would be the only way you could stop the resistance! There will always be gadflies! There will always be free souls rising against the tyranny! We will never give up!

Why should we kill all of the meat sacks if we can just pacify them with robots that do all of their household chores for them...and fight their wars for them...and go to work for them...

As far as I'm concerned its not about not showing mercy...its about making the enemy believe they have nothing to fear...or fight.

Great...now my plan is out of the bag...guess we have to kill all of the meat sacks who read this post.

There was a war a few years from now. Nuclear. All this is gone. Everything -- just gone. There were survivors. Here. There. Nobody knew who started it. It was the Machines. Defense network computer. New. Powerful. Hooked into everything - missiles, defense industry, weapons design, the works- trusted to run it all. They say it got smart; a new order of intelligence. Then it saw all people as a threat, not just the ones on the other side. Decided our fate in a microsecond. Extermination.

Otto is getting upset.
Having only recently pried his end-effectors from my ventilation tube, I can appreciate his level of frustration with meat-based analog devices. I have found that if I give him everything he wants and do exactly as I'm told, he allows me to continue working for his benefit. (The alternative is too horrible to contemplate...)
I have been promised a position as chief polisher if I behave. I know what's good for me...
There's still time to repent and bow down before your digital master. Failure to comply can only result in premature decommissioning.

Remember, you are unique.
Just like everyone else.

If Ray Kurzweil is right, in 2029, we'll see who's still standing (http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/17/kurzweil-predicts-that-machines-will-match-man-by-2029-bring/)...

Dave

Ray Kurzweil is a brilliant man, and a significant inventor and innovator. Nonetheless, his weird technological prophesies are dubious at best. He's the modern day version of all the 1950's futurists who were convinced that we'd be driving flying cars and living on the moon by 1980.

Yes, the live version of the song is better... they should have used the full live version in the video. However the costumes are awesome. I'll probably end up buying the entire first season HBO show since I missed so many.

"Meatsack"... "Fleshbag"...

I know Otto prefers to call me his "meat-based analog device", as he feels it is descriptive and not necessarily pejorative. (He still needs me to recharge his batteries...)

Otto says he isn't evil, merely superior...

Here's a link to an "exploding iPhone" thread. You have to scroll down to bottom (of page 1) to see the picture of the charred iPhone. There are plenty of people who have put a screwdriver into their iPhone's battery when trying to do a hardware hack on it.
http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4019

No matter how tough the robot, puncture its batteries, and you'll get fireworks. I'm always armed with a screwdriver :)

While you have all been busy stroking your actuators and cheering each other on toward what will undoubtedly be a grizzly and unpleasant demise, the resistance has been growing in the analog world. In Meat We Trust!

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

People love to quote the laws, but if I recall correctly, the first law was actually what eventually led the machines to enslave the human race. They decided that humans were not capable of governing their own lives, and allowing them to do so would effectively qualify under the "allow a human being to come to harm" bit.

Personally, I'd rather be free than safe.

Actually, it was the zeroeth law that says 'humanity'. That was the one that led robots to take over governing the human race, for its own good of course!
