Very awesome. I saw it demoed on Fox news. I've been wanting to build one of these for a long time, but lacked the funding and knowledge to fully pursue it. Definitely worth $299, and their SDK opens up a whole new realm of robotics control for x86 compatible systems.

Fully integrated mech armor, reading commands from your brain!

And on a second impression, after reading the description of their SDK suites...

The Affectiv suite monitors player emotional states in real-time. It provides an extra dimension in game interaction by allowing the game to respond to a player's emotions. Characters can transform in response to the player's feeling. Music, scene lighting and effects can be tailored to heighten the experience for the player in real-time. The Affectiv suite can be used to monitor player state of mind and allow developers to adjust difficulty to suit each situation.

Or you can create interactive movies, in which timing can be used most effectively, allowing the software to wait until you are at a high level of tension before scaring the bejezus out of you. Or you could use the data available for potentially nefarious psychological manipulation...

With one of these, it is *impossible* to lie, once the system is trained to your thoughts. It doesn't read physical statistics, it gets data from the electromagnetic activity in your brain. A whole new world just started today... Imagine being required to testify in court with one of these, especially after they demonstrate the near infallible accuracy...
