My dream started with the wanting of a robot that could be controlled using the internet. I have 3 step brothers not including my own siblings. They are at my house all the time (because its their house too :sad:) But I'm only at that house half the time. How will I know that my possessions are safe without being there. I though having a robot with video will be good way to keep watch. But how will i control it from miles away? The Mighty Internet is how. So i came up with the idea and did research on the internet only to find out that they are about $500 and higher. I don't have $500 (and if i did i probably wouldn't spend it all on one robot). So i thought I'm pretty good with my hands and with computers, i can build something like that for much cheaper. So i came up with a design, waited till my birthday for some cash, and began building. All for about $120 and old remote control cars.

Software:
The whole thing was programmed using RoboRealm. I have never done programming before, but I did manage to crank out a few lines, by following from example. It runs on an xbox 360 controller. I did this because oddly enough it was the easiest way.
The internet part comes from remote desktop connection. [I was really disappointed that I could not show it in the video due to trouble with the computers i currently have access too. But it does work.] But anyway I connect to the laptop on the robot and using an xbox 360 controller plugged into the computer control it just like I do in the video.

Overall the whole thing is still a work in progress. I will probably never stop adding and redoing things. A lot of stuff was rushed do to time limitations. Current things on the re-do list include: Less bulking pan and tilt, stronger chassis, an better software.
In conclusion, this a great robot that serves its designed purpose, and was built very cheap. Just think if only I had more money to fund my robotics projects. HINT HINT
