Just a quick mention to everyone. We uploaded some new avatars:
To edit your avatar pic:
Go to: User CP -> Edit Avatar
We actually uploaded them last Friday, but I forgot to mention it.

I'm seeing an utter lack of fembots, though :P

Actually, you and Sienna are who inspired me yesterday to go out and find fembots images and cut them down to size for avatars in our forums:) The ones that I uploaded yesterday were mostly all the terminatrix images, all those classics I uploaded a couple weeks back but forgot to post here about it.
I'm a little stuck though. I couldn't think of other fembots...
I still have that looooong list of robots to go through in this post (http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/showpost.php?p=7411&postcount=38) (I'm only about halfway through it now). If you think of other fembots other than what is in that list, let me know!

You know, it's interesting... I've been wracking my brain for fembots. The vast majority I can think of are just women behaving strangely. ;) There seems to be some kind of "block" where rendering gynoids is concerned.
A few that come to mind that aren't like that would be:
Dot Matrix from Spaceballs
Galatea from Bicentennial Man
Dural from the game Virtua Fighter
I'm already running dry...
Think I'll stick with T-X for the moment. ;-)
I'm a little stuck though. I couldn't think of other fembots...

I totally spaced out on V.I.C.I (Small Wonder), Angelyne (from Futurama), Arcee & Elite One (from transformers).
I still need to find a good V.I.C.I pic, but the others are up there now:)

I wish there were MORE women in technology fields, including Robotics. I might be able to find a geek girl who can put up with me. :veryhappy: Both Sienna and Adrenalynn rock majorly. I'm working with Sienna on another project also.

In all honesty, though, I agree that I'd like to see more women in the field.
I think it was Matt, I believe, that pointed out some of the reasons why Robotics attracts more women.

I found an AWESOME list of female robots (found out the agreed term is "gynoids") earlier today. I'm about 20% through the list, looking for good images of each to cut down to avatar size:

ah, so you were! I didn't catch that till I took a second look.
You're right though. Not too many robot "looking" gynoids, but none the less, there still are some:) If after I get all the avatars uploaded someone remembers a gynoid I left out, make sure to let me know! I want to get them all in our list:D

Cool! I missed this before. I just uploaded a cool VIKI one.
I thought about the AI bots, but that'll take a bit more digging because I know there were a lot of them.
The bots from Blade runner - I uploaded the ones that I could find decent enough pix of.
