View Full Version : Considering adding humanoids to our 3D simulator (Cogmation's robotSuite)

We are thinking of adding a humanoid ( or more than one) robot to our 3D robot simulator and robot development environment and would like to get some feedback

Currently we are considering adding the Hitech RoboNova and Robotis Bioloid. Should we consider any others ?

Our software allows developers / non-programmers to create robot code , simulate the robot in 3D environment and then download the same code to a real robot. We have support for C# and Basic scripting for advanced users.

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is not adding a robot system like Bioloid or Robonova to your simulator, it is making the robot reconfigurable in your simulator. As both the basic robonova and humanoid Bioloid are not all that good. At least for me. Once you get it built and start to modify them then they get more and more useful. Like the Robonova, for example, need some kind of gyro sensor or it will not properly walk in any kind of environment, and without the tilt sensor or some kind of tilt sensor, it will not know to get up when it falls.

thanks for the feedback,

We will add a lot of sensors to the standard roboNova and Bioloid systems.

Eventually we will have the capabilities to allow users to reconfigure all of the robots.

In version 1, each robot is fully loaded with standard sensors and if you don't use a sensor it is removed from the simulated robot at runtime.
