Hello,

Is there a USB servo control board made by Phidgets that will control 32 servos? Or least something in that range?

Not at present. This is an area that should be addressed, but there are excellent 32 servo controllers available such as the Lynxmotion SSC-32 (http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx?productID=395&CategoryID=52) that just takes commands through a serial connection. I can't imagine using anything but an SSC-32.

Hello,

I do not think that the lynxmotion one is bad, I have thought about getting it. I do not think that the Robonova board is bad either - but I would prefer something that is usb ready. My tablet that I do alot of my robot stuff on does not have a serial port so you have to use the usb adapter which is just a pain in the a**.

This should allow you to convert to USB

This would be the cheapest and fastest way to go. Take it from a guy who has build 18 servo walkers using Phidgets. I love Phidgets, but having that many 4-port boards isn't the way to go.

I have read of many problems with USB -> Serial adapters, so it's understandable you would not want to deal with that. Lynxmotion is working on a new servo controller/bot board type controller board that will be fully programmable in C. It will use an AVR processor. I hope it will end up being USB ready.

I just bought a serial -> usb from parallax (http:/http://www.parallax.com/Store/Accessories/CablesConverters/tabid/166/CategoryID/40/List/0/Level/a/ProductID/378/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName%2cProductName) and im hoping it will work with my tablet since it doesnt have a serial port, ill let you know how it works.

PS: how in the world do you control a whole biped with just phidgets? 0.0

I would like some more info on these problems, maybe some links. I control a $150,000 inspection robot with USB to Serial adapter. I dont like it to crash.
