Pulling for People Fund Raiser

I need some help. The Lutheran church youth group in my town is sponsoring a fund raiser to help a paralyzed student and veterans get Ibot wheel chairs. 100% of the proceeds up to $100,000 will be divided up between the VA hospital and the students family. He is newly paralyzed (snowboarding accident last year at 15 years old.), and his family is currently building a new house that is one story and wheel chair accessible, but there will still be things he can’t reach in the house, and places he can not go around it.

The way the fund raiser works is you, and the people riding the bus collect pledges based on how far a school bus gets pulled. I will include links to a FAQ sheet and pledge forms with this link. I’ve been training about 10 hours a week to get ready for this. There are already several people and teams that have agreed to participate.

I think this is an important thing to get involved with.

I’m hoping to get some video that I can post online.

Ok...so the pull is this Saturday. I'm supposed to do a test run tomorrow after school. I'll see how I do. I really need you guys' help. I just haven't been able to get anyone else to raise any funds. Even a pledge of $1 a foot would be a great help.

I just did a test pull of the bus. It was a lot older and heavier than I had hoped. I had to have a person push. I'll wear different shoes, and I'll have a rope to pull myself down, but I may not be able to do it on my own.

I managed 22 feet and raised a little over $1000. We will be running the event again in October before a football game. The local press picked it up, so hopefully we will make our target of $50,000 by the end of the year.
