Hey everyone,

I have been busy lately learning the Java language at an iD tech camp, and i would like to use it with my robot since its really familiar to me now. At the camp i have even started to make the base of my AI for my humanoid.

So i was wondering... Is there any good controllers out there i can put on a robot?

Thanks.

Even if they don't have native java support, any of the serial or virtual serial controllers would work a treat. Easy to get to serial ports from Java.

First to mind would be the Phidgets (http://www.phidgets.com/downloads.php?example_id=15) Second would be the Serializer (not natively Java), the Sabertooth motor controller with serial (not natively Java), and the Arduino and Make Controller (both not natively Java).

I thought you can program in Java directly with the OOPic. Either way, Java is a powerful language and can be run independently of an OS, so I'm sure there are many cool boards out there.

Oh yeah, they won't allow resellers for some reason, but the SunSpot is a really amazing piece of hardware:
