Any plans for handheld/mobile/cell friendly trc site? Figured there are lots techy folks here who uses such a doohicky thingamajig regularly.... would be nice to have a slim down version of trc :) Probably too much work than it's worth, but figured I'd suggest it :)

I've checked in pretty frequently from the pocketpc, it's not bad there. My usual trick is to VNC into the home machine, then scale the screen to the palmtop, fire-up IE on the home machine and go in that way. Makes it easier (if tiny) to see everything. Then I use a laser capacitance virtual keyboard for text entry. That's how I "keep in touch" when I'm traveling. The IP logs will show I've posted here from at least seven states and two countries. :)

Wow... Hermione indeed! 7 states and 2 countries? whoa...

I didn't think of vnc route, but that's more trouble than I am willing to do, just looking to do quick checks the forum from my cell while I'm out, as I am checking email :)

I was traveling a fair bit in my last job. That's arrested for the moment.

I understand - easier with a pocketpc and larger screen than with most cellphones (although I don't know what you're carrying)

I've seen proxy servers out there that attempt to lighten a site on the fly to mobile-ready. Would that fit the bill? (I know you're looking for a direct solution, I'm just thinking"around" the problem...

hmmm cool, I'm all about thinking around problems! I'm using an at&t tilt (windows mobile), I have not heard about the on the fly mobile thing you are talking about... would love that, if it works decent enough :) Got suggestions for ones to try?

Now that I know that might work out for you, I'll go back and search through my database of links ("favorites" aren't big enough for me. ;)) Give me a little bit. After yesterday's hike and climb, I'm moving *really* slow today. I'm not out of shape. Round is a shape, right? ;)

LOL no worries! I didn't mean for you to do my homework for me, or to take the time to sort through your links... Just thought you knew one off the top of your head, since you seem to know a bit of everything :) I'll look around for something like you described :) Thanks again.

I pasted some others, but testing them, it looks like google has the winner (of course)...

Check this out: http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.trossenrobotics.com%2Fshow thread.php%3Ft%3D1665%26page%3D13&_gwt_pg=1 (http://www.google.com/gwt/n?u=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.trossenrobotics.com%2Fshow thread.php%3Ft%3D1665%26page%3D13&_gwt_pg=1)

I got into it using this link: http://www.taenarum.com/moxy.php

Have to do a couple of "next" clicks to get past the columns on the left, but once you get into the forums themselves, it's pretty good.

Woot! :D Your post came through loud and clear!

I'll look at a couple more I have links for, but I have to say so far this google version is head and shoulders above any of the pay or ad-supported ones I've seen.

I use an Apple i-phone, and it works perfect for the Trossen site... I have even ordered on it from the store, and it looks fantastic...
