I was running some tests with my walker this morning and I noticed that after standing for a few minutes that several of the servos were starting to heat up. Is this normal? do I have to worry about melting servos?

How hot is "hot"?

Absolutely you can burn-up servos. Hitting them with position changes too fast (more than every 20ms or so), overloading their capacity or running them too close to stall, off-axis weight and shaft balance, ... Lots of ways to make a servo angry. Remember there's just a wee itty bitty motor inside there with no air circulation, and that motor will certainly burn itself up if it's pushed too hard.
