Hello everybody,

I am using the PNA4601M with a IR LED and I am lost to how to programming the Arduino Diecimila to use these two. Any help would be grateful. Any sites would be wonderful. Thanks again for your help

I would like to use it as an object detection.

Microcontroller controller programming is still a bit over my head, but I'm sure the spec sheet (http://www.rentron.com/Files/pna4601m.pdf) will help someone help you out:)

Not as ranging, right, but simple/make break detection?

Well, I just order two GP2D120 for testing. These babies should make things easier. I would like to use them for range detection. This is mainly how the bots will get around the field and not run into each other. Down the road I will use a camera for object tracking and following supplemented by the GP2D120.

Super! I think you'll be a lot happier with a pre-designed IR ranger than with trying to implement them from scratch from a diode and sensor. I use the D12's, the only difference betwixt them and the D120's is the optics - the board is identical, so you can swap betwixt them at will.
