Well, up until her face got all freaky, I thought she was kind of cute...so I suppose I'd have to say the uncanny valley was bridged in my case. Software image processing is getting extremely impressive. Now if only the AI would do a little catching up.

Amazing Alex, Just amazing, Just as soon as we get faster processing power we will go leaps abounds in these area's.

I don't think processing power is the hold-up today...
The uncanny was not lept for me. I fell into it about 15 seconds into the demonstration - the big tip was the frame-rate which I at first attributed to the streaming medium, but it made me start looking for problems.

I completely agree. I think it's more of a programming issue. As Rodney Brooks recently stated (http://www.newsweek.com/id/151581?GT1=43001), "Whether we humans are smart enough to build such machines is a different question. Maybe we're just not smart enough. That pisses off the scientists when I say that."
I'm sure he said that a little tongue-in-cheek. I don't think it's that we cannot build such intelligent machines, we just haven't figure out how to do it yet.

Eh. It's just fancy motion capture, and they didn't change the camera angle which is pretty disappointing for a mocap demo.

Agreed, Meta. Gotta admit it would increase thru-put on a mocap project though.

I don't know what her processing power is. :)
