I was if anybody has done something like: http://www.circuitcellar.com/library/print/0704/Lacoste_168/index.htm. If so what are your opinions. Any suggestions for improvements? I was planning on making one.

Jon just made a tutorial similar to this. It's still in the drafts section:

Good link to doing reflowing. I was looking for other reflow oven projects to get some ideas.

I haven't made mine into a tutorial yet, but its sort of documented on my blog (http://www.huv.com/blog/2007_03_01_archive.html)...

Thank you for your link to your blog. With yours and the one I found on circuit cellar I should have a good ground to start from. I will start looking over the designs and see what I can do to make my reflow oven. I think this is going to be a fun project.

Update: One of the things I notice, JonHylands, before even reading is how you put it "realized that I could use a much cheaper parallel LCD panel ($7.30 from Digikey) instead of a much more expensive (but easier to interface to) serial LCD panel." Is that something you still stand by now even with Dave's LCD driver code or would you recommend using a serial LCD if money allowed?

Sparkfun sells a kit. I've never used it but it looks interesting:
