There's always DOOM and GLOOM about experiments like these, Very little people see the benifits of such experiments, Who knows what they will find over the years with this project.

Yeah, my grandfather has a PhD in Nuclear Physics and Organic Chemistry- He's not worried so neither am I :p

I think a lot of the doom-and-gloom is based on a lack of understanding for just how much energy is required to do lasting damage. If our little collider could make even a momentary tear, every star in the universe would already be a blackhole...

If you didn't check it, the source code of the page is amusing too. Among other things is "the first person to ask for an RSS feed gets a free black hole in their junk", which is followed by "...ok fine i made one. rss.xml."
