Ever have one of those times when you just really want to post something, but know you can't? Ever have several in one short little period?

Yeah, well, I'm scratching that itch:

wait...is that it? I thought you were going to go on a rant about people asking for advice and then completely ignoring it, or asking question after question posing it as requests for advice where you find yourself doing the persons thesis for them...

That's long been my favorite social commentary. It is my mantra. So many people are alive today that wouldn't otherwise have been simply due to Scott Adams' brilliance.

I have a copy in my purse. I have a framed copy in several rooms - one even autographed. It is such a brilliant summary of how I feel some [most] days...

including your story with the sniper for hire...? [quickly hides away from adrenalynn]

Competition-grade ammo's expensive. Most people that annoy me aren't likely to get sniped because they're not worth the five dollars to me. ;)

Well, it all depends on the range you're sniping. 500 to 1000 yards is capable with 7.62 or 300 mag and you can get Federals match ammo at reasonable prices; but I've read somewhere on these forums that you have the Barrett 50 cal and that stuff is real expensive. Being a former marine I'm more partial to the M24 sniper system and it's around 1.65 a round if you buy it in cases. =)

I also shoot a 6BR now and again - no place to take the 50's out here. [pout]

It does reasonable ~7" groups out the the thousand yard neighborhood.

BTW- thank you for your service! Semper Fi!

You like the big guns don't you? I usually compete with the M16 or M14 with iron sites for service rifle matches and either the M21 or M24 for sniper tactical matches depending on limitations for bolt action or semi-auto. Every once in a while I'll drag the 300 mag out of the gun vault but I like shooting the weapons that I can fire all day without any major damage to bone, muscle or ligaments. =)

lol. its illegal for fully automatic weapons here in NZ. that includes BB guns....

My father got a Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver a few years back. he was sooo chuffed with it, he fired off 200 factory rounds and the next day he struggled to drive as his hand was black and blue! lol!

The 6BR is just a cap-gun. Little 6mm PPC basically. Especially considering it's a bench-rest weapon, you can fire it all day long - and the ammo's not that bad in the cost department.

I used to have the cutest AR-15 - I miss it, I need another. It was bright yellow with purple barrel and clip. It made me smile :) Especially when you move from it to the 50 out on the range and see the expressions. ;)

The weapons we're talking about aren't full-auto, Elios.

I've never seen an AR in any other color except for the standard black or Armorlite green. My personal favorite benchrest rifle is a .223 swift built on the Winchester model 70 frame. Very flat shooting weapon out to around 500 yards and runs 1/4 to 1/2 moa.

You guys seen/heard of EDM Arms (http://www.edmarms.com/main.htm)? They're pretty much down the street from me. I got to visit their shop a couple times (I dated the owner's daughter for a bit a few years back). Unfortunately I never got to fire any of them, nor did I have the several grand to acquire my own...

I promise those weren't factory colors. I saw a "Hello Kitty" AR once too...

I've heard of them but have not had the opportunity to fire one. But in the 50 cal arena I'm still partial to the Barrett M82A1.

I guess I'm boring; I just shoot the black Bushmaster ODCMP version of the AR. But I think some people would get a kick out of it if I were to show up for a match with a Hello Kitty scheme on my plastic. lol...

because we ran into some problems with the database and I had to import a backup of the database. There four posts that were not included with this backup, one of them was the one that you see here.

You guys crack me up with all your bantering. I guess things didn't go so bad. Out of the 4 wayard posts, 2 were mine and in this off topic thread so no real harm done. Well, unless Alex murdered any of Tyberius' robots while he slept and if he did I want to see pictures of the junk pile. :)

Alex is actually scared of my robots. Two of them have guns and Johnny 5 is smarter than he is.
