View Full Version : [Discussion] New Video Plugin - What do you think?
Okay. I think we "might" have the new video plugin working without crashing the TRC... I hope... :D
Anyways, I'd love to hear everyone's feedback on the new plugin, both good & bad. Also, let me know if you find any bugs at all.
Try it out in this thread, if you haven't already. Just post the URL to a video, and it should automatically embed the video.
Of course, my favorite video still to this day:
YouTube - Keepon dancing to Spoon's "Don't You Evah"
I'm still working on embedding pix, so hold on...

YouTube - Bad day in the Office
[click on it... It's not the one you think it is. . .]

OMG.
I laughed so hard I cried. I've never seen this one, and I never saw it coming. . .
YouTube - Bad Day At the Office
BTW, the only video sites that the plugin is setup to support right now are:
You Tube
MySpace
Google Video
Yahoo
Amazon
But, there are a TON of addons to support other videos. So if there is a video site that you use that isn't listed, let me know and I'll see about getting it added:)
holy crap adrenalynn! That first one had me in tears!
The second one though... hmm... I thought I knew some nutcases in my day but that guy...

I can't get the videos to play here on TRC - but they play fine on YouTube directly.
huh? I'm not sure I understand what you're saying... The videos are playing just fine in this thread...

I get the still frame, I click play, I get the little white spinniething, and no video plays for me. When I paste it directly into youtube, it plays fine - ?
is anyone else having this problem?

Did you solve the embedding of streaming video yet? I haven't been paying attention to the forum video updates.... *look*
Like, if we have a streaming server (which eventually I might...) can we post links to the video's streaming URL and have it embedded?

If I understand the question, this was a couple posts ago:

yes, those are the only sites that are currently supported, but I'm looking into if it's possible for members to link to videos they are hosting.
Sienna - We're using a completely different plugin. There were just too many problems with the old one and it was hardly being supported anymore. This new plugin has a ton of support and there are many who are developing addons for it.
Got an answer:) Yes, you can embed videos that you are hosting. Before you do, I have to add your domain in the backend.

Ooo neato! Thanks Alex
Now to find something that takes composite in and converts it to computer format....
Can everyone view the videos now, or are they still getting the loading icon?
