View Full Version : [News/Announcement] Microsoft’s Coding4Fun is looking for some creative .NET builders!

Our friends, Microsoft’s Coding4Fun team (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/default.aspx), have had some really awesome project write-ups over the years, not to mention all of the cool projects TR and the C4F team developed together and showed off at various shows/faires.

Here are just a few goodies that I grabbed out of their Hardware Section (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/tags/hardware/default.aspx):

Managed Library for the Wiimote (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/2007/03/14/1879033.aspx) by Brian Peek

Animated Musical Holiday Light Show (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/2007/12/23/1230660.aspx) by Brian Peek
Wiimote Controlled Car (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/2007/06/12/3243294.aspx) by Brian Peek (my personal favorite)
Beginning Game Development via DirectX (http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/2006/11/02/938703.aspx) by Derek Pierson

They’ve recently contacted us to ask any .NET programmers in the TRC if they either have a project that they have created, or would like to create a project with a fun Holiday theme to be displayed on the Coding4Fun site. Here are a few ideas that came to mind when thinking about the project:

An automated gift hander out using RFID scanners
Gift Guarder that takes snapshots of the person and sends it back to a computer
Phidget controlled Menorah? Could add in flickering to go the extra mile.
Snowball launcher system. (.Net Micro Framework)

Basically, the more creative, the better! The C4F team loves creativity!

Anyone that is interested in building a project + article for Coding4Fun is invited to contact Clint ([email protected]).

Thanks C4F! We’ve had a ton of great times with all of you throughout the years, and we hope to hang again really soon:)
