View Full Version : [Just For Fun] Fun with Lexan

Had a problem. My computer enclosure won't mount neatly to the chassis without getting in the way of the batterieshttp://forums.trossenrobotics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=768&stc=1&d=1227920762

After a few bends into the process:

Back into the redneck bending brake to do do more bends:

After some time with the heat gun and some force:

Don't have to do this with commercial benders:

The finished bracket, with batteries in their bays:

It didn't turn out as neat as possible, some of the bends aren't quite right. Considering how much I paid for the equipment, and this is my first time working with Lexan or using a bending brake, I'll take it. Still want to clean up the edges with my scroll saw.

(did I do the attaching / posting thing right?)

loooks really good idea instead of buying a commerical bender,i guess you heated the lexan first before bendingand then cooled it afterwards
