Here is a manifestation of "Andrews'" Hang em high idea.

I used a Heavy Lag Eyelet, Blackburn flat bungie bike strap, linking flat chain, and some carpenters marking string..

Four things this does:

1) I got tired of grabbing the Bioloid in mid air before he took a duster.

2) It gets the project off the floor and in front of you, and beside your imput device.

3) It will allow faster posing

4) Its easier on your Bioloid.

This setup is absolutely ingenious, really showcases how versatile the Bioloid system is!

Excellent work, +Rep !

That's really nice!

Indeed, humanoids seem to fall often  I would have needed something like that when I was working a my first biped.

brilliant, yet so simple... simply brilliant? Ha! I am funny after all!

+rep from me too:)

Great idea using Bioloid pieces as the connection!

I did somewhat of the same thing here, yet mine is mobile on carpet or smooth surface. The frame is so light-weight that it really doesn't hinder the movement at all. I've modified it with a proper harness and small caster wheels since then.

I'll have to take this into serious consideration. Right now I'm not building anything that needs to be restrained but the idea certainly is ingenious. I especially like Obscene's design. It really screams "big evil end-of-movie villain disengaging from support mount".

i'm kinda fond of obscene's design but i'm wondering will this will be for sale?

Uhh, those are home made stands...

I actually modified a heat lamp for this stand but I think it could easily be made with some aluminum tubing. I'm not sure what type or gauge this aluminum is, but it's extremely light weight.

sorry forgive my ignorance :(

but it looks simple to make

Everything is simple - after someone has already done it. That's what separates inventors from kit builders.

Ahh, how true.

Sigma X, you could propably inspire yourself of the desings shown here and make your own from probably old stuff in your house. :D

It is rather ingenius in its simplicity, Pelicans. It is obvious how building an automaton inspires ingenuity in this theTrossen Robotics Community.

I need something like that too- or a couple of extra hands to hold bioloid in the pose while typing on the keyboard!
