Hello all,

I posted a while back in the new user thread about the rover I'm building, Crashy. It's basically just the robot equivalent of HELLO WORLD; I'm just posting here for accountability. Feel free to take a look, and to nag me if I don't update the thread with my progress :)

I'm impressed with the very round cut on the aluminum. It looks like a fun first project, good luck!

I to anticipate the completion of this particular automaton, Crashy.

All,

Crashy is now functional. It powers up, takes off and turns to avoid obstacles as designed.

Remaining steps include building a permanent sensor mount, redesigning the skid and balancing the rear (it's a little tippy in turns).

Further refinements include adding a pair of peripheral IR sensors and some touch sensors. I hope to make Crashy smart enough to survive several minutes unsupervised. I.e. smarter than your typical 2-year-old :)
