View Full Version : Custom RX-64 Brackets

I've added the RX-64 brackets I designed for my mech (to be machined by Big Blue Saw (http://www.bigbluesaw.com)) to the Data Center, link can be found here:

These are in two formats, Inventor .ipt metric, and exported as .DXF US.

I am not the best Autocad'r by any means (don't laugh at my bazillion sketches in Inventor double checking things, or if I did things completely back asswards), but these are all painstakingly accurate in measurement.

They essentially are based upon the Bioloid set of brackets, including 45 degree angle brackets, long brackets, and wide brackets as well as the two variants of side brackets that attach to the servo body. I did not include any normal straight brackets (these can be purchased directly from Robotis), however if there is a request for them I could draw one up quite easily.

All of these are built around 2mm 5052 aluminum and require a brake to bend. These are built in a simplified manner compared to the standard Robotis brackets to keep machining cost down, but are more than sufficient for most purposes.

The included feet are an extra, something I designed for my own uses. They are not an easy part to have made, your machine shop will probably give you dirty looks if you bring this in looking to get it built. :D

If there is enough interest, we're entertaining the idea of having these manufactured to sell in our store. Feel free to PM me if you would be interested.

Big Blue Saw is pretty good, looks like they can even make custom gears too.
I checked their price. $10/bracket for 1 or 2 sets of prototypes, you need to put all the brackets into one sheet.
Am I right about the price?

Hi Tyberius. The link is broken. But I found your files in Data Center.
Just you know, I have sent it the rapidsheetmetal.com for a quote.

Awesome! I'm not building an RX-64 bot yet, but I want to in the future, and these could come in handy. Thanks for sharing.

They're actually available here on the store as well, with required bearing hub assembly (a spendy component that adds up quick with custom RX brackets): http://www.trossenrobotics.com/c/robotis-dynamixel-robot-servos.aspx#RX64

Hi Andrew
I am not going to use RX-64 for now. I just want to have some idea of cost to make the custom brackets if I use HV-300.

Dear Tyberius:

Can I lob, toss, throw, nudge, a "hint" for custom AX-12 brackets?;)

Crustcrawler does not have the "full" set of metal AX-12 brackets. Their brackets are mostly for their arms, quads, hexapods and not for bipeds.

Or would a full metal Bioloid be to heavy?
