How to use 3mm hubs

So I got my hubs (http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store/p/3391-Mounting-Hub-3mm-pair-.aspx) and foam tires (http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store/p/3389-Neoprene-Foam-Tire-3-D-x-0-75-W-pair-.aspx) but how do I put them together?

In my mind it seems like I would need to drill out a hole in the wheel that the hub can fit through, attach the hub to the shaft, then screw the larger diameter portion of the hub to the wheel... but I was kind of expecting something slightly more graceful than that method and I am not sure I have a big enough drill bit.

Nevermid, I think I got it. The wheel just goes on the opposite side of the hub. I was just thrown off by the really long shaft on the motor. I expected it to go all the way through the hub. I will just cut the shaft down to length.

The Banebots motors have long shafts on them so you can run multiple wheels side-by-side for additional traction.

Be careful cutting them. Use a hacksaw. Any heat will boil off the lubrication in the gearbox (!)

That's an example of what you don't want to use. :)

You can repack the gearbox, and it's the only way I've made ours worth a darn, but plan on spending a lot of time with a lot of light and a lot of magnification. I'm using teflon suspended in lithium.
