does anyone hav idea fr making a wall climbimg robot(surface is smooth and has high traction,so more easy).links will be a welcome.wat to use fr sticking the bot to the wall and frm where can i get it?????????????????????

Stanford Uni had some special material developed for that little buggers feet iirc google "stanford gecko robot" and you should be able to find some better info though.

thnx fr helping but the robot is too hard for me . i am now thinking of something that would act like a tape -as force is aplied it will get removed and it will easily stick to the wall and it will be attched to the wheels .can anyone tell me any substance which is eligible for this task.90 degree climb with around 10 to 15 feet .can u tell the adhesive to use and good motor with high torque.:veryhappy:

I would google around, contact manufacturers, and buy a few hundred samples. Then I would test and retest them at various temperature and humidity ranges in the desired operating range. I would also keep them exposed over time to see if they dry out.

Most wall climbers in the hobby space use a vacuum action, like an inverse hovercraft.

There has been some research on using Van Der Waals force to work the same way a Gecko does on a wall. I believe carbon nano-tubes were used for the prototype. I think that is how the one in the video works.

Not too easy to make by yourself though.
I've seen it done by making a mold in a laser engraver, making tiny dots in a plastic, and then casting silicone rubber into it.

Wasn't too efficient though..

Hi. A wall climbing robot called as TBCP II was developed by the researchers of Simon Fraser University at Burnaby from the inspiration of gecko. It uses PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) as an adhesive material. It can climb vertical surfaces easily. Moreover, it can move over the inside and outside corners.
