I've done a bunch of thinking about how I want to do motion control for my biped and I'm thinking the host computer ( beagleboard or fit-pc2 ) is just not going to cut it for realtime work. The host computer is going to be busy enough dealing with wifi, the camera, image processing, and overall goals. I think I'll need another device between the host and the actuators to handle the dirty work of motion control, motion mixing, and active balancing. The XMOS stuff looks like it might be ideal for the job.

Has anyone had the time to play around with these ( particularly the XC-1 kit ) and have an opinion?
