Hi guys

Is there a way to make a (basic) exo suit like in this link

but not for power but for registration of movement

like in controle of a smaler version of u, a smal robot or computer registration/animation

maybe with servo's ,feedback and otherstuff

i hope u guys can help me

The guys working on the Morav project used a telemetric suit to control a small scale mech.


Are you talking about something like this?

I don't know exactly how, I can give you my best guess. Others will probably be able to chime in on better help. I just could understand what you were talking about.

I know I have seen Robotis and other hobbyists use one Dynamixel servo as the "input" and will allow the user to turn it and manipulate it, and then they send the same position over to the "output" servo that mimics the movement.

So I am guessing, you have one set of servos set up as the "exosuit" and the other indentical set of servos set up as the miniature form of the exosuit. And program the one to mimic the other.

Thats my guess, but others should know better.

The cheapest way would be to use pot's on the joints you want monitored. Then convert the analog values from the pots to digital. Well this depends on the processor you use you might need a couple of a/d you might not. But there are tons of examples of using pots to get a value based on its position as it rotates.

Quantum is exactly right. An Arduino paired with a few pots and some scrap Aluminum is the cheapest route. The AX-12's would end up costing you $45 per joint. A pot is around $1.
