I'm working with a newly purchased PhantomX Turret in Windows XP and I'm having some problems.

The servos run off to position 1 (5 o'clock) and I'm not sure why. I think it might have something to do with closing the serial port though. Using CommEXT with the VB InterbotiX_Robot_Turret_Demo.exe can cause the tilt servo to run off to position 1 if I close the port and open it back up. Using the commanderEXT.py, I have a problem sending the pan servo to position 1023. When I send the command it doesn't respond, then when I try to send another command both servos run off to position 1. Any insight into these two problems would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I think I may have stripped some of the gears on the tilt servo since the F-2 bracket comes into contact with the servo case before it can reach position 1. Does the pypose terminal allow me to change the limits on the Dynamixel so I can prevent this from happening again?
