I found this last night and I thought it was just amazing so I figured I would pass it on here. I'm highly impressed with its precision. Looks like this guy wants to open source his project some how. This is the guys blog. http://3dhomemade.blogspot.com/

This is the 3D printer in action.

Very nice resolution, he wants to make money. But does not seem to be greedy. 90% open source. sell10% in a kit. He would like to patent.

I too like the 90% open source deal. Depending on what to 10% kit looks like it could be a fairly attracting deal for me.

I also like that Junior (the developer) talks about building a support community which I think is a great idea, I can only imagine that to be a lot of work. I hope it all works out well for him. I would really like to have one of these printers more than a makerbot or a reprap because of the resolution it offers.

There also seems to be far fewer parts to deal with which makes me think the kit would be easier to build and maintain. My only true concern would be handling the resin and the fumes it gives off. I do have a good ventilation system in my shop which I'm sure would handle it fine. Just the same I think I will do more research on the resins toxic properties.

If not for the current projects I have going on now I would attempt to make this on my own. From what I have read on some yahoo groups I seem to have all the components needed to make it. What I don't have is the program to run it all and the time for the trial and errors. So I think I will wait a bit to see how Junior makes out and what he ends up offering. He seems to be having a lot of success with what he has done already.

Dang I really want one.
