Pictures will go in the soon to be created Gallery for Robogames/Mech Warfare 2012.

Videos however, should go here! Find something cool on youtube? Post em here! Also, if you were recording video at the event, best not hold out on us. If anyone has some killer footage they think should be included in our official montage video, please let me know and we'll arrange an exchange.

First up, here's the final match of Immortal vs Insanity Wolf!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-KF1Prj5ZI

This match was incredibly close, going back and forth with strikes right down to the end. Immortal had lost one of its weapons in a previous match, and Insanity Wolf had the left gun jam half way through this match. By the end, neither had any ammo left and each had 1 hitpoint left. Final blow was dealt by Insanity Wolf using its leg to smash into one of Immortal's target panels.

Nice video Andrew! I think 2013 will finally be the year when I get my lazy butt to San Mateo for robogames. Seems like this event has quite matured since its inception.

Is it just me or are the quads dominating this competition? Are there different classes of robots now or are the competition a mix of all robots?

Also, do you have any recent vids of Giger?

One suggestion I want to make regarding Mech Warfare is, it would be kinda cool (if time allows) to have sort of a "warm-up" round where instead of each robot hunting each other, have like a hogan's alley sort of thing where you can shoot stationary targets that spring up and score points.

I hope more videos pop up soon on this thread, I enjoy seeing this competition evolve. Seems like each year, the competition gets more refined and the bots look more sophisticated.

Giger was basically parted out to fund a good chunk of the arena, I'll revisit him before next year using MX-106.

I want to keep the focus on the mech combat. We'll be doing something akin to a hogan's alley for qualifications next year though.

Here are a couple of shorts on Xanthe the little biped that kept on going all the way to the semi-finals.

This one was just playing around in between matches.

This was one of three wins for Xanthe.

The mech was built by the student team at Rolling Robots ages 9 to 14 piloted by Josef age 10.
Based on simplicity not real fast or aggressive but showed great reliability.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOooooo ooooooooooooooooo
I just put down my robot screwdriver and the part I was working on to observe a moment of silence in the memory of one of my all time favorite robots.
