I have since removed this gun and am going with an updated AEG gearbox. This gun had plenty of velocity but a slow rate of fire. The area was small and the bb's were bouncing back and forth off of the walls 3 and four times ! (safety glasses were used). No hopper but I had about 60 bb's in the tube !

I think cell phones will keep taking over, as they already have CPU and battery and WiFi and camera all built in :-)

If you think about it they are perfect for robotics. That is why I never get rid of them. That one there is an Android Optimus that is rooted i bought it a few years ago. I also have a Motorolla atrix 4g , 1ghz cpu , 512 mb ram, that is retired ready for a project. Think about it smartphones can do speech to text, have an accelerometer, gps, small screen, camera. Imagine plugging the servos into a usb controller that uses the phones hardware to do everything, and you could control it from your tablet ! I also like the idea of using a tablet to control the robot. The wiiu has an interesting tablet style controller.

It's cheap, rips down to just the gun nicely, and you end up with a rc truck, and 2 extra electric motors.
I paid $40 for it on sale.

I've thought of using that system for airsoft beginner league before, but dismissed it.

I was thinking of using the turret, but it wasn't cost effective.
