Hey fellow Roboteers!

I was wondering if anyone had a good resource for buying torsion springs? I bought some from McMaster, but they were pricey.

Thanks,

-Alonso

Can you supply a link or part number to the McMaster springs and comment on if you are looking for a direct replacement or a different style? You can check these sources, but McMaster is probably cheaper:

When I bought springs from McMaster, they came in an envelope from Jones Springs, which has the website: http://springsfast.com/torsion-springs.php
T (http://springsfast.com/torsion-springs.php)heir torsion springs seem reasonably priced. You need to buy in multiples of "standard quantities," but that's as low as 6, and prices per spring are such that you'll probably pay more for shipping anyway :-)
So, I liked the coil springs I got from them through McMaster, but I haven't dealt with them direction. Let me know if you do and it goes well :-)

Wow McMaster ships fast. I ordered them yesterday and they arrived today!

I didn't really know what torque I needed for my application and ideally I wanted an assorted box of torsion springs. I just ended up buying these multiple springs from McMaster:

9271K44
9271K39
9271K35
9271K26

The total was around 35 dollars which I guess isn't insane.

When the springs arrived they came in an envelope from Gardner Springs! I looked at their website, but they didn't have an online catalog.

Thanks for the links!
