How much weight can 1/2 " Diameter PVC pipe can hold with glued spots in a radius of 6" ?

I'm having trouble visualising what you mean, but watch out for PVC. It gets brittle when exposed to sunlight / UV-light. It takes a while & is dependent on the thickness of the PVC, but it will eventually shatter if it's under any stress.
I think the orange coloured electrical conduit is better, but I'm not sure how much better. You should be able to get it in the same sizes as the PVC though. Ask about any differences between the two at your local hardware shop. :)

That said, PVC is quite strong under tension, but rubbish under flexion. New PVC pipes put into water-bores are glued together in a string for 100m deep or more, & the one at the top holds the weight of the 16 lengths of 6m pipes OK until they can sit it on the bottom of the hole.

thank you
