Team ASDF and our robot HD2 had experienced a really exciting weekend!!! I'd like to thank the organizers and competitors for all the fun (and stress) we had!!!
It would be really interesting to gather the comments on experiences from this year's participants.

As for HD2, it was a real stress understanding that we cannot connect to arena wifi, so we missed the Fridays qualifiers. Fortunately, during the night we understood that we have N only wifi onboard and fortunately we had a bg donlge, too. So, that let us pass qualification next morning.
During the first battle against RA we've got a hit on each shot fired generated by interference from the gun which did not happen in our field tests at home. That put us in the losers bracket. Thanks for capacitor trick showed by fellow mechwarist and some borrowed capacitors we were back in the field. There were still some occasional interference hits but HD2 got through to semis where it was completely outgunned by Nomad from Tucson. Bad that we did not get a chance to fight Immortal. But anyway, 3rd place for a rookie is ok.

I am from Riga, Latvia and was participating in the event mainly via skype and reverse ssh, but that was still a huge fun. Which is exactly why we are all here, right?

For start, here is a video HD2 captured during the battle with NOMAD (the other Nomad).

I was really impressed by HD2! I also heard a lot of people around the arena talk about the intricate linkages of the legs.
Also, from what I hear, HD2 is the second biped ever to place in top-3 in Mech Warfare, so that should count as a job very well done!

Yeah, HD2 was very impressive, I like the design and what I have seen of the control software a lot :)
Well done!

Congratulations on the placing! Wish I could've been there to see it in person, definitely one of the more innovative bipeds out there.

Added two more first person videos from our battles.

The red number on top right was supposed to count hits detected, but unfortunately due some bug either in transponder or my code it kept incementing until the first real hit was detected. The transponder was supposed to keep the input pin high and go low when hit is detected. Apparently it was set to low upon startup and it kept it so until first real hit. That is why my code counted 4 hits/second until first real hit.

It turns out we don't have any pictures or videos of HD2 in action, except for those first person recordings. If you guys could share some, that would be great! Or really any pics or videos of the event, for that matter.

Robogames 2013 Final Match - Immortal vs Nomad Tucson

Thanks for all the good matches this year. We have lots of footage... sadly like 30 GB so it will take some time to upload them all. Where is google fiber when you need it!

Anubis Vs Twitch. This is just a little of the melee. Both our guns jammed half way in.
