The manual (http://support.robotis.com/en/product/dynamixel/ax_series/dxl_ax_actuator.htm) says that if you set register 18 (0x12 hex) to value 0, all the alarm shutdowns will be disabled. Expect sad servos.

Ok can you please tell me who to set the register 18 to 0.Which commands to use ?

What MCU board are you using to control servos? You'd have to provide more information in order for someone to (maybe) help you.

$45.00 down the drain in three, two, .... I'm curious what kind of experiment requires you to destroy a AX-12?

I am using CM510. I purchased premium kit in 2010. So warranty is already over. I think some commands of roboplus terminal will disable the overload trigger.I want exact steps, so that i will disable overload in one try.

You are going to strip gearheads almost instantaneously if you are currently triggering the overload alarm and then turn it off. There really aren't any good reasons to turn off the overload on an AX-12

Hi Inxfergy. I am trying to contact you from last 2 days. I am ready for gear break. I just want to shutdown the overload trigger. Please help.

You can set the value of register 18 to 0 in the Dynamixel Wizard. This is a persistent setting -- once set for the servo, it stays that way across power cycles. If you don't have an USB2Dynamixel, I think the RoboPlus tool also lets you configure this register in the same way that it lets you configure servo ID, but I may be off on that -- I don't use RoboPlus.

Yes. I have the Usb2dynamixel. But i want to set value of register 18 to 0 'permanent'. Do you have any screenshot ?

Ok. I tried it myself in Dynamixel Wizard. Please see the screenshot. Is that a permanently set to 0 ?

Looks like it to me. Easiest way to test yourself is to just shut down roboplus, power off the servo, then power on the servo and turn on roboplus again, and see what the value is (my prediction: it will still be 0, thus overload shutdown turned off.)

Now the red led is ON. When i switch on the cm510, the red led is ON Forever. Not blinking. I think its temperature. I checked roboplus manager, its 69 red mark. What are the possibilities/reasons of Led still ON ? And how to turn off temperature trigger ?

What are you trying to do exactly? You seem to have very little experience with these servos hence your questions. It seems like you are hellbent on destroying this servo for no other reason than to kill it. At least clue us in on why and what you hope to learn from this situation.

You need to slow down and do a lot more research on the servos. Every single question you've asked is easily answered by simply reading the AX-12 documentation. While our community is more than happy to help newcomers, you're quite obviously a bit in over your head with the level of questions you're asking given what you're trying to accomplish.

Please do some more research and come back with informed questions. Locking this thread.
