I've finished my build, and used rme to run init and sit.

What is the next thing I should read:

1. Create "motion" files?
2. Pose the robot?

Can you provide some links?

Thanks,

Brad

Here's the current page for using the Robot Motion Editor to make and play poses
https://github.com/Interbotix/HROS1-Framework/wiki/rme
It's based on the original "action_editor" from the ROBOTIS darwin, and accepts the same commands and structure, so you can take a look at their documentation for more info

http://support.robotis.com/en/product/darwin-op/development/tools/action_editor.htm

I'm working on a video that explains the commands in depth. I'm shooting for having a first draft today, or tomorrow at the latest.

Ok, I've just posted the RME video. It should get you started with posing and playing motions. We've also added some poses to the default motion file and will be adding some more by the end of the week.
FIXED LINK -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOt36Otpp4Y

it is also on the RME documentation page

Two questions:

1. How do I update my motion file with the new poses? Is that a git pull on the robot?

2. I added some poses to my existing motion file already - how can I merge the changes?

Thanks,

Brad

Perhaps it is just my browser, but the youtube link directed me to the wrong video.

Sorry about that, I fixed the link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOt36Otpp4Y)

As far as poses are concerned, it's a bit tricky.

1)If you want to get out latest official poses, you can do a git pull, but you'll need to manage any conflicts with your current file. Alternatively you can download just the motion file and replace it on your machine

https://github.com/Interbotix/HROS1-Framework/raw/master/Data/motion_4096.bin

Make sure to rename your current file if you have custom poses on it.

2)Right now there isn't a good way to merge two files. Right now the options are
a)manually key in each page you want to move over, which is very time consuming/prone to error
b)RoboPlus Method NOTE:We haven't tried the roboplus motion method yet - I'll try to get confirmation that this works (it should) but if you try this, have backups of all your files.

i)Download and install Robotis's Roboplus software (http://www.robotis.com/xe/download_en/1132509)
ii)launch Roboplus Motion
iii) rename your motion_4096.bin files to motion_4906.mtn, and open the files in RoboPlus
iv)Now you can click on a page, CTRL-C to copy, then move over to the other file and CTRL-V to paste.
v)Save your files and rename the target file to motion_4096.bin. Replace the file on your robot.

An SSH filt transfer program like Cyberduck or Filezilla may be useful for moving files around. You can connect to your robot using SFTP and the same credentials you use to SSH.

I would really like to come up with a way to easily access the motion files for merges and edits, and allow more collaboration, but I'm not sure the best way to approach it.

Also, I do plan on having more poses tonight or tomorrow, and potentially another batch over the weekend. One of our team members is making poses for Maker Faire and we want to share them with everyone.

Sweet, may have to edit some of my old dance and kungfoo bioloid files ;-)
