Hi all,

I am just wondering if it is possible to connect spekers in the Artibox-Pro because I saw a couples pins with the label "speakers" :p  and anyone have experience with a microphone on edison?

Cheers!

@Tyberius will have to chime in about spekers on the ArbotiX board. I've been using the framework to send mp3 files to the Raspberry Pi's headphone and out to speakers for some demonstrations. For the edison, it may be possible to get a mic in/sound out with a usb sound card, but that will require a USB hub.

IIRC, the CM-730 uses a pair of 2-pin JST-PH connectors for input and output to a tiny audio amplifier to drive a small plastic disk speaker stuffed in the front plastic of the DARwIn-OP.

Also on Edison you might be able to us BT sound. Not sure how well it is working, but maybe better with the new release.

Kurt is correct.. you can use Bluetooth audio on the Intel Edison. I just confirmed and the process is simple.

rfkill unblock bluetooth
bluetoothctl
agent on
default-agent
scan on

In my case I see: [NEW] Device FC:58:FA:94:8B:62 Anker A7910

you might get away without pair and just use connect but the process I just performed was

pair FC:58:FA:94:8B:62
connect FC:58:FA:94:8B:62
trust FC:58:FA:94:8B:62

Then I tested with mplayer <filename.wav>

Works great and sounds good :D

I suppose I should mention I'm using the latest (05-15) Yocto image.
