Everything was on and connected, but idle, and I bumped the Xbox controller so the trigger pushed against something on the table.

My eyes are happy the robot was on the side and thus the rocochet went sideways!
That will teach me to unload after trial runs...

There are a few 6mm circular dents on one of my monitors as well.

Friend of mine who developped the gun for our version of MW-style thingy had the same problem... :/

Just wondering.. do you have some kind of arm/disarm system for the firearms? An extra switch or button sequence might have saved you a monitor.

When outside the competition arena, all guns must have a physical barrel lock in place which prevents BBs from being fired...

...In all weapons classes, any Mech that is capable of shooting without explicit human input must have a verified remote kill switch and a visual indicator that they are "armed". We will not have Skynet go live on our watch.

There is a MOSFET that powers/un-powers the moving parts, which includes servos and guns.
This is under software and button control.
But it wasn't in the right position.
My plan for barrel cover is to 3D print some covers, but one thing at a time and all that.

Luckily, it was a $79 Chinese special, so it could have been worse... (Monitors are really cheap, these days!)

'Safety Third', then?

'Safety Third', then?

Always! As I'm not in academia, I have to live by industry standards.
