Hi,

I'm building a Bioloid Type A robot. But I want to control it using theOpenCM 9.04-B controller.

My idea is to use the four TTL pins for servos. In each pin I'm thinking to connect 5 or 6 servos (AX-12A) in serial mode.

For the moment I don’t have any battery, so I'm going to connect the + and - pins of the OpenCM to an 11 V power supply.

It would work or the controller will be damaged?

Thanks and sorry for my bad English, I'm learning it.

It is perfectly safe, but the power traces of the OpenCM are meant for the low-power XL-320 servos in the Darwin-Mini, so they are not able to handle very much current (the two pin JST connectors are rated ~2A, where AX-12 can require 1A each during higher loading). The AX/TTL powered hub from the trossen shop (http://www.trossenrobotics.com/6-port-ax-mx-power-hub) would be a better way to power everything (including the OpenCM connected by one 3-pin dynamixel cable to the hub) as screw terminal and barrel connector mean that no special dynamixel cables need to be created to connect the power supply (battery) to the servos. If you do not want to make an adapter cable for the battery to connect it to the hub, trossen shop also sells a cable harness ready to use (http://www.trossenrobotics.com/battery-wiring-harness) to connect Deans/T-connector equipped batteries - like those sold in the trossen shop (http://www.trossenrobotics.com/3s-11v-2200mah-25c-lipo-battery) - and a barrel connector for the hub.
