Speed problems when reverse mounting motors

I'm using 2 trico wiper motors for a simple differential drive on my robot. I have the (normal) problem in that one of the motors is reverse-placed and runs at a slightly slower speed than the other.

I have a Sabretooth motor controller ready to go, but I doubt if this will help at all.

I'm wondering if I can put a trim resistor in series with the faster motor, and tweak it until I can get the motors in sync.

Then maybe replace it with a fixed resistor when I know the right value.

Does this sound feasible?

Since the motors love lots of current, what kind of resistor would I need?

I just realised that you can control the motor speed independently with the Sabretooth.

Yay! That should fix it.

Well, it looks like you've figured it out. Just experiment and fix the speeds through software. Have fun!
