Re: Getting stated with ROS and ArbotixM

Thanks a bundle the detailed answer.

I already have the arbotix_firmware up and running and the ROS stack working. My plan was to initially port my heavily modified NUKE based engine which...

Getting stated with ROS and ArbotixM

Hi, I have a wheeled quadruped built from and arbotix and dynamixels and have had good success with arbotix alone using something derived from the NUKE but now I want to get into the ROS echosystem. ...

    Question(s) Re: NUKE

I didn't say it's impossible, just that there are some constraints to consider. An arbotix-m and a commander controller can do this pretty much "out of the box" with NUKE. You could try it out to...

Question(s) Should the green and blue LEDs work Ax12+ ?

Should the AX12+ be able to set the LED to blue or green?

Setting it to red works but not the other two. I see the bits for the on the robotis site but it doesn't mention anything about...

Re: 3DOF Quadrupedal AX-12A Mech "NoName"

That description was more that I could have hoped for :) Very simple and nice execution. I may well try that before long. Would not worry to much about my own warranty :P I got an used AX12+ set...

Re: 3DOF Quadrupedal AX-12A Mech "NoName"

Nice robot. I have quite a similar setup for own robot Stikklar but with added wheels on the leg ends and longer leg as well. Can you give any details on the AX12 heat sink modification you did?

Re: A few pypose NUKE errors?

If you are running the nuke code the robot is not loading the neutral position but rather the set endpoints assigned in setupIK() using the doIK(). A 'random' position may suggest it is out of the...

    Question(s) Re: Controlling dynamical together

Incidentally I just solved this in my own project recently :P I base my solution on the NUKE code but have re-factored it quite heavily since. I used a separate BioloidsController from the...

    Question(s) Re: Arbotix-M i2c setup

From a bit more googling it seems the wire library turns the internal pull ups when initializing. It should be no problem for them to add them though lets see if I get better results that way. Also...

I haven't found any trace of geo stable gaits in any of those repositories yet. I'm still intrigued though. Wonder if there is any solid literature to take a look at?

Question(s) Geometrically stable gait for Nuke/PyPose

Rummaging through the wiki while wrapping my head around PyPose, Nuke and all the other goodies I came across the RIPPLE_GEO gait. I can not find any reference to it in the default arobotix download...

  19. Do the ArobotiX Commander joystick buttons work?

I noticed the joysticks of the ArobotiX Commander have a press button action. But nowhere in code or in documentation do I see any mention of them. Are the not connected or am I missing something...
