    Re: Mech Warfare 2015

I really should start reading this forum more often! I need to see what it'll take to get my new mech up and walking but this is a good goal for me to shoot for!

Controlling Ax12's with a Raspberry Pi

I have modified and expanded lnxfergy's original AX12 python script to run on a Raspberry Pi. It presents a wrapper for communicating with an AX12 servo that can be imported into a script. The...

Re: Current Draw of the airsoft guns

I have used a Castle Creations programmable BEC for powering the guns and servos in past. It works great for driving motors, but it may be a bit noisy for some electronics. Your mileage may vary of...

    Tri-Hex

I saw a video a while back of the Pololu 3 servo walker and it really inspired me to try a three servo walker. I didn't have any funds to dedicate to the project so I had to design it using parts I...

    Re: iRobot python GUI communication

You need a multi-threaded application. Look up threading for python. It's pretty convoluted to get started with threading but Python makes it as easy as it's going to get.

    Question(s) Re: Power supply

I have a couple of professional bench top power supplies but I usually use an old ATX power supply for motors and servos. The 12v rail is nearly perfect for AX-12's.

Good observations about the leg design. I'm looking forward to seeing it walk. It really reminds me of Mr. Snuffleupagus for some reason.

    Question(s) Re: exo suit

Quantum is exactly right. An Arduino paired with a few pots and some scrap Aluminum is the cheapest route. The AX-12's would end up costing you $45 per joint. A pot is around $1.
