    PhantomX Hexapod and Bioloid

I bought this Hexapod robot from Andrew at the beginning of the year. As usual I am too distracted with my kids and other projects to give it proper attention.

    PhantomX Hexapod with 18 AX-12+...
  9. Re: Scoring System - 2011 feedback and 2012 ideas

Dude! You know I don't put all the screws in my bots to save weight. 15 grams is a lot and an xbee is huge when you have no place to put it! haha.
  10. Re: Scoring System - 2011 feedback and 2012 ideas

I get shot down every year with this, but now's the time to try again!

Don't require the transponder for bots that are capable of sending non-video data over wifi.

Re: 50CM Robot arm servo choices

I'm surprised to hear that. It's only 10cm larger than my robocup bot, but with servos that are more than twice the torque.

Re: 50CM Robot arm servo choices

Hobbycity has some new cheap digi-servos that'll do 20kgf-cm.

  15. Re: A good link for hobby servo brackets to be used in robot design

There are only so many ways to make a servo bracket.
  16. Re: How to increase torque by paralleling multiple servos

50cm should be attainable without doubling up. My AX-12 robocup bot was 40cm.
  17. Re: How to increase torque by paralleling multiple servos

You probably can set it up pretty well, but they're going to eventually fight as servo conditions change. I think you actually want a tiny bit of fighting as that'll help with backlash.

    How big of...
  18. Re: Does Dynamixel servo AX-12 or RX-64 have motor lock mode?

Whoa. I guess I posted that in the wrong thread. Geez.

HV-300 is still the clear winner from a torque/weight/price standpoint. Hobbycity has some new cheap servos, but they are more in the same...

  20. Re: A good link for hobby servo brackets to be used in robot design

From what I have seen they do look good, but I never got around to properly testing it. Specifically I wanted to figure out its moving torque and if they get super hot when continuously loaded.
  21. Re: A good link for hobby servo brackets to be used in robot design

Wow. Tetrix look amazing. I didn't see a price anywhere though.
