So where is this project at now? Always been anticipating an awesome update!
Yep, still here
Having used inventor and solidworks, I feel that solidworks is more user friendly, and that often there's more than one way to do something. Just my 2c.
I use solidworks free student 150 day license. My father set up the main distributor down in Australasia so I just keep asking for new ones :)
It is an awesome program, recently invested in a...
I cleared my cache, still showing up.
Hmmm don't see why you need lead... we had a 9 farad capacitor firing ours right next to our ICs and didnt skip a beat.
Use some of these for firing, as they will only need a small amount of...
Thanks! I got controller boards etched up and firing correctly - needs to be done a bit more seriously, as I have more important projects on the go which are taking up all my time.
aaannddd HES BACK!!!
ohai :)
When can we have a good yarn about robotics again??? :) :)
Good to hear your still alive
p.s you should put a rotate on the head too and lasers :P
You want thick wire. I have 12 and 10 AWG on my coils...
Would love to put this on a mech ae :P
okay... its been about 12 weeks since the last time i touched this beastie.
Have taken it home for the school holidays and managed to get it working before i shorted 10 amps across the heatsink of...
Rover has been updated further.
Sent it up to an 'employee' who is doing R&D on it.
some more photos.
you could probably detect the stall current thru the servo and then move accordingly, but that would only get you going in one direction.
Edit: Maybe hack a servo and put a secondary shaft...
Just some more piccies and a utube link.
I made another prototype chassis and I think this one has stuck. Got a guy at school to build me an h-bridge.
...
not yet, the gearboxes are quite old and motors quite hungry, so it struggles to drive in a straight line. The whiteboard pen was meant to be the third wheel :P will keep updated with programs etc....
some photos. Mk I and Mk II models shown here :)
Got an h-bridge setup completed. Will post circuit schematics and piccies tonight.
When a pin is set high, the motor moves one way. when the pin is set low, it goes the other way. once that pin...
Hi All,
Im currently building this little PICAXE rover as a bit of a side project/kitset idea for guys at school to do.
I designed and made a plate of which a Tamiya gearbox bolts onto. This...
absolutely incredible work Zenta... completely amazed every time.
Again well done mate
:D Keep us updated :)
it must be a much cheaper option, im sure :) :) :)
Again, well done and keep up the great work.
wow awesome project. I reckon what would be cool is to get a wrecked segway and turn the base into a two wheeled robotics platform.
again, i am starting to run out of time to get this project completed so have bought a plane... (cats jumped on the wing and twisted it while gluing, do not have the time or resources to rebuild)
...
school holidays, and the project has had to be postponed. Im getting sick of it at this stage as the power fets keep blowing up
thanks. Bearing in mind this is firing only with one coil. we plan on having five beasties
another note,
last week i ended up rewinding the secondary coil, and its awesome.
I stepped up the current from the power supplies to about 5A and ended up burning out the MOSFETS. got the...
some photos that i said i would post. I have four power supplies now, but only the top two are in use as they are meant to be teachers only, "unlimited" supplies.
Heyall,
Would like to share this with the trossen community. Might even post up a tutorial when finished ;)
This was meant as a school project to engage my mind, challenge, and help me teach...
dealextreme.com
have a look there perhaps?
more video please :P this is awesome! cant get enough of it :)
Well see you some time round 1:30... time to get some progress done!
Has anybody seen GWjax around at all?
are you Finally getting into programming :P
the Basic language is quite easy... i teach the guys PICAXE basic at school, and with a few new PICAXE chips coming out this year the PICAXE Range is...
why dont you just make reverse-sticky stickers so that you dont have to weatherproof them for vehicles, put them on the inside?
'Ello
take a look at this:
http://forums.trossenrobotics.com/showthread.php?t=2398
some guy did a monster thing, you should get in contact with him but make sure you go thru this forum as...
Sorry I had the same first impression :/
hmm time to update as was brought up in chat.
just to bullet a few things:
- I have swapped to a twin engined R/C style aircraft which is still being built.
- Using a GPS for navigation,...
well... sounds stuffed to me? it shouldnt do that, should stay as a fraction of the supply voltage, not constantly with low resistance? I haven't used bioloid or anything, but the OEM gyros etc that...
hi all!
i recently became a finalist in the BrightSparks HiTech competition, (i have been to busy with it to post about it on here)
...
solidworks :D
start small, try and use something like polycarb, cos weight means stronger actuators, which means more weight, etc etc, which ends up being a hefty price tag, and something that struggles to do...
walking is going to be hardest, and trying to keep the weight down is the best. if your going for something that requires welding, then a rover base with humanoid torso like the J-5 would be best...
