Thankyou. W.A.L.T.E.R. will have some interesting capabilities when I have all the hardware together and some software written. The arm itself is a unique design, having a double joint - this gives the arm some incredible flexibility.

Ha ha, but you'd have to catch me first! I can move at almost 10 MPH in my chair..

I finally have the rest of the electronic and arm parts for W.A.L.T.E.R.! I got 50 of the 2n7000 FETs to use for level shifting and other things, some 74AHC245 tri-state octal bus transceivers, and a few 2 position screw terminals to test out for the new battery power supply of the Hammer Carrier Board. I also got the last of the SES brackets to complete the arm assembly. A very nice friend from the UK sent me some money for robot parts.

I've also setup a GIT repository on GitHub for all the sources of software I will write for W.A.L.T.E.R. 2.0, including all the startup scripts used to initialize his various subsystems. I have chosen all the software that will be used, which I of course will add a significant part to.

W.A.L.T.E.R. looks cool, what program do you use to do your modeling? Did you have to model all the components yourself or did you find them pre-made somewhere?

All I've used in the past is google sketch-up

I use Alibre Design Expert for my 3D CAD and modeling. There is a free no timeout version once it is registered. Lynxmotion has a library of 3D models of all their Servo Erector Set brackets, some of which I have created.

Dale, great link! I don't know when I will get time to play with it, but I downloaded it in the off chance I do.
