  1. Well my 2nd post with a question about phone lines

    I am a new person here, but here is my problem.
    I am modifying a wireless phone set. A base station that is attached to my computer modem using a phone line wire, and the wireless part aka the headset, is going to be attached to the bot. I am planning to use serout and serin through the wireless connection, but I am having a difficult time with the wiring. I have found the actual wireless part of both units which is covered by metal shielding, probably against and feedback or noise, but only one has markings such as which of the wires are tx, rfi-power, etc, the other does not. And even with the markings it is difficult to conclude which does what exactly. Any help would be nice :P. I am planing to run some script on my pc to send data to and fro the bot using the wireless component of the head set and base station. The bot's brains are going to be a bs2.     If I understand your needs correctly, you're going to need to modulate and demodulate the signal to get it into the digital domain. Interestingly enough, that's what "MODEM" stands for - Modulator DeModulator.

    You may want to check out some off-the-shelf Bluetooth modems instead. The Blue SMiRF transceivers act as wireless serial bridges. They're well-documented and relatively idiot-proof.

    I mean, I don't want to talk you out of using the cordless phone, because you will save yourself a lot of money that way, but you may also end up pulling out a lot of hair.
