    Modified Lynxmotion J5

Well here are some of the first pics of the whole set of Lynxmotion J5 parts, And quite a few there are.

    First layout of parts.

    Close up.

Shocks for the torso, bottom right.

    Sabre tooth 2 x 5 5amp motor controller.

Damn, That's a lot of parts

Parts laid out ready for assembling.

    ER1 in the back ground.

Parts for J5's tracks and base.

    Nice challenge here.

Thought i would give you all an update on My Modified J5 Like Tyberius's J5 with some slight mods. Have had it just over two weeks now and the ITX parts should arrive soon from Tyberius. Thanks for all your help in this area Tyberius.

    Torso now in progress.

    Shoulder sections

Shoulder sections with HR5990 Digital servos.

Torso shock system, These can be altered for more or less compression, either with stronger springs or the type of oil
    used.

    Shoulder servos.

Starting to take shape, please note that those long alloy rods have changed to 25mm in length, I was just experimenting with longer lengths.

    Wrist rotation section.

    Hand section complete.

Modded alloy discs for hand rotation system, protrusion filed off.

Filed Alloy disc against nylon gear. As this does not need the protrusion on the alloy disc.

Short 25mm alloy tubes now inserted.

    Arm installed.

All sytems on the arms have been tested with my Hitec servo programmer.

Tyberius has made a suggestion that I place the wrist servo and gear at the other end of the alloy wrist to hide the servo at the elbow, this could be a good idea, may change this and have a look at the possibilities.

Tyberius, What sort of weight can these arms/hands pick up?? Do you have some numbers.

Nothing solid, but I applied rubber grips to the inside and picked up a full bottle of guiness with them.

    Hi,
    Nice work and parts!
It's almost like christmas when you get your parts LOL. (I always get that feeling when waiting for an order.)

Zenta:Many thanks for your comment, And yes, It is like Christmas lots of goodies. I really am enjoying assembling J5 great fun, I have taken over 140 pics so far in the construction stage, So I can see a tutorial coming up as soon as I have finished it, The software side of it may set me back a bit, but I know I can get good help here if I get into trouble and Tyberius has all of it worked out.I'm looking forward to having a go at the eyebrows using some very small servos.
Adrenalynn: I had planned on fitting weapons on the lower arms at the elbow stage and still will do this, but for now I will make it the same as Tyberius's J5 so as to get the whole system working as he has as this will be good for me to see how it all works. There is so much potential with this robot it will keep me out of trouble for some time, with Mech wars as well.

Stoked to see another J5. It was a toss up for me between a hexapod, a J5 or a humanoid. I figured a hexapod would give me the most versatile platform while moving away from a rolling chassis.

What are your plans for the head/sensors and stuff?

darkback2: Thanks for your comment, At this stage i will try to build it the same as Tyberius's J5 with a couple of mods like having eyebrow servos [miniture] and just get him going first, Then experiment with other sensors later. Thanks for your interest.
