I did it! I made my first bot. Please don't laugh.

Please don't laugh, I am very poor and the materials I used are all stuff I scraped together. Check my blog for a materials list.
Here are the first pictures of Trash.

Sorry for the cell phone pictures.
I'm gonna have to get something stronger then plastic forks and chopsticks for legs, they flex rather then hold.
    Ghetto enough for you?
Trash uses 4 hitech 311 servos as the knee joints, and 4 generic continuous rotation servos out of cheapo paintball hoppers. I havn't started with any coding for him yet, but once I remake the legs tomorrow (possibly with pens, or more chopsticks.) I plan on making a simple walking gait. The hard part is going to be figuring out how to get the hopper servos to do what they are supposed to. They only have + and - cables, so I'm going to have to figure out how to reverse the current. Any ideas would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll switch them with the hitechs, and just have them rotate 360* for each step..
The frame is a frame piece of an old computer cd drive case, 2 strips of wood I found, the front cover to said cd drive. The whole thing is held together with a crap ton of zip ties. I ran out of black towards the end, so there are some colored ones mixed in.. The sole of a shoe that I found (found the sole, not the shoe lol) is what the Arduino is sitting on, to prevent it from accidentally grounding out on something. I plan on installing 2 cheap flashlights as 'eyes' tomorrow for looks after i strengthen the frame.

    Thoughts?

    Forks. And Chopsticks.

This is the most fantastically ghetto robot I have ever seen in my life.

That's killer. No description of your bot is complete without mention of the zip ties. I've seen RC cars bandaged together with zip ties, but your bot takes the cake!

What small mech box are you using?

    WOW!

It is awesomly resortful robot I have ever seen! I am always trying to buy new pieces, but instead I could use chop sticks, plastic forks and a lot of zip ties. (and as ooops mentionned, duct tape ).

I seriously like it a lot! I would like to see it moving. Keep us updated on the programing!

That is AWESOME! Very resourcefull and creative.I am very impressed with your imagination and passion for robotics. Send me a PM with your address and I will send you some hardware to help you fill up your robotics tool box.

I LOVE it. Creativity is born of restraint in resources and there is piles of it here. I'm impressed with the ingenuity. You could maybe get a dremel and some thin flat sheets of wood for cheap to take it to the next level by hand crafting wooden parts. That would step up the strength. More detailed pics when you get the chance!

Oh, and shouldn't this end up in DarkBacks junkbots competition?
