Thread: Power outage when at least 8 servos are in motion

  1. Power outage when at least 8 servos are in motion

I just put together the PhantomX MIII Hexabot with AX-18A servos and the HexabotTest checked out. Then I loaded the Phantom code onto it and was controlling it ok but every so often it would reset.

To isolate the issue I modified the HexabotTest code to drive all the femurs and tibias down and then up simultaneously. The body is supported and no legs are touching the ground. If I do at least 4 legs at once the power cuts off briefly and it restarts.

It works with the battery, but apparently with the power adapter the hexabot can't handle the load of at least 8 servos moving simultaneously?
